optiMize

Throughout college, I worked on optiMize’s (a social innovation organization on campus) storytelling and marketing, creating and managing social media content, and interviewing participants to share in storytelling materials.

Through my role as Creative Lead, I maintained the optiMize brand, expanded our community, and empowered students both on- and off-campus. By serving as one of the main liaisons between the team, challenge participants, and our community partners for content, I improved my skills as an effective communicator both in person and through written formats. In addition, I  joined our Community Partners team to establish stronger relationships with our campus partners and create more pathways for students across the state to have access to more support and resources.

Through this role, I:

  • Directed the Creative Team in the creation of all organization design and storytelling content by delegating key action items and tracking asset progress timelines while coordinating marketing material orders and placements with external printing and location vendors to complete over 40 high-quality projects annually

  • Refined overarching branding and storytelling strategies, building a consistent voice and rapport across digital and in-person messaging, resulting in record-number of over 500 applications to the incubator program, multiple press releases, and securing over $1M in donations to support future programming

  • Developed team training, start-up curriculum, and facilitation guides to deliver 5 full-day workshops to over 1000 student entrepreneurs to foster informed innovation decisions and stronger community collaboration

As the most formative experience through an organization, my time at optiMize has fostered my love for creating relationships with and sharing the stories of others.
